Countryside Stewardship is a government scheme which provides funding for farmers, woodland owners, foresters and land managers to make environmental improvements. There are four main elements to the scheme:
- - Mid Tier, which offers options, supplements and capital items to achieve simple and effective environmental benefits
- - Higher Tier, which covers the more environmentally significant sites, commons and woodlands
- - Wildlife Offers, which help farmers and land managers protect wildlife and preserve the natural environment
- - Capital Grants, including Catchment Sensitive Farming Water Capital grant, hedgerows and boundaries grant, historic buildings restoration grant, woodland support
